The anti-vax shit drives me FUCKING BATSHIT.  Seriously.  GET YER KIDS VACCINATED.  IT SAVES LIVES.  And the herd immunity thing is IMPORTANT.  Not only can we sometimes knock out diseases (like the aforementioned smallpox), but it protects people who CAN’T get vaccinated (due to real reasons like allergies to the vaccine, not stupid reasons like thinking Jenny McCarthy isn’t a moron).  So, yeah.   Agreed.  The anti-vax thing is the most pernicious example of outright bullshit that’s become somewhat popular amongst the misinformed.
